Vanishing Labyrinths Exhibition at St Agnes Island Hall

The Silk Labyrinth in the lobby of St Agnes Island Hall…

So excited to share these photos of our exhibition at St Agnes Island Hall, which brought together all the aspect of the labyrinth project together into one show. It ran for two weeks in the hall, and we chose this venue because it is on the same island as Troy Town Maze, Scilly’s oldest labyrinth - and because it is such a beautiful space to curate an art exhibition in. The exhibition was split into roughly two halves: the first half, in the long hall, focussed on the research side of the project and the restoration of Giant’s Castle Maze; and the second half, in the old hall, showed our personal artistic responses inspired by Scilly’s labyrinths. It was a total pleasure to spend almost a month on St Agnes, installing and invigilating the show, and speaking to everyone who came to the space about Scilly’s labyrinths and our creative work around this phenomenon. Heartfelt thanks to St Agnes Island Hall committee for letting us us the space, and to everyone who came along to see the show.

It was an incredibly rewarding experience to bring all the work from the project together in this way - we loved every minute. We are hoping to be able to tour the exhibition to the mainland in the future, so hopefully there will be chance for more people (who couldn’t reach this tiny island in the sea during the two weeks we were there) to see it too.
